The Spike

The Spike game  is a volleyball project in which you have to hone the skills of serving and receiving the ball, develop a sports career, and win doubles competitions.

The user controls a team of two athletes who want to become volleyball legends. At first, the settings options are minimal, you need to try yourself in matches and earn money, get bonuses. Artificial intelligence selects opponents, taking into account the qualifications of the team, there will be no significant difficulties at the start. Opponents opportunities will grow later, for decent behavior in matches you need to work hard between competitions.

The first profit can be used to improve the characteristics of each ward. Depending on the style of play, it is recommended to adjust the indicators of attack and defense, increase the pace, and improve jumps. Also, money will be useful for updating the form, purchasing more comfortable shoes. Between matches, the players think not only about sports, in dialogues with girls and friends, you can notice various topics, from studying at the university, to emotions during victories and defeats. The user learns a lot of interesting information about the life of those who, in front of the viewer, are focused only on the competition.

The developer simplified the control algorithm as much as possible, four keys were enough for making maneuvers on the volleyball court. There are a couple of buttons for hitting the ball near the net or in the distance, as well as buttons for receiving the ball (one in the normal state, the other when it falls). In the confrontation, the winner is the team that will score five points faster and surpass the opponents by at least two points. A wide range of settings allows you to adapt content to suit the players wishes. Good 2D graphics allow you to enjoy the competitive process and get to know the players from different angles.
